Raising kids raises questions. We have answers. So go ahead, ask!
Beginning at about 5 or 6 months to the first birthday, most babies experience separation anxiety and prefer one parent over the other. Typically, babies prefer their moms as moms are equated with food, sleep and comfort. Parents Ask expert Elizabeth Pantley, author of The No-Cry Solution series for parents suggests trying
a neutral situation to "hand" the baby off. This is easier than a physical hand off. Separation and anxiety is a phase that doesn't last long. It's perfectly normal behavior so parents should try not to take it personally. Just think, one day, your baby will grow up and probably prefer that neither of you play with he/she!
