Today, Parents Ask contributor Tori Kropp, RN, author of The Joy of Pregnancy, gives expert advice on the best diet to incorporate while pregnant and foods that will make your body feel its best and keep you and your baby healthy.
Tori's Tips for a Healthy Diet During Pregnancy:
-Eat Fresh fruits and veggies every day
-Eatoods high in protein- if you're having an aversion to certain meats, try protein rich foods like tofu, fish, or beans.
-Incorporate whole grains
-Get your calcium!
-Soft, pasteurized cheeses ARE okay
-To combat constipation, drink lots of water and eat high fiber foods
-Prenatal vitamins are important.
