Today, Parents Ask expert Elizabeth Ward gives expert insight into drinking alcohol during the time you're breastfeeding. Elizabeth, author of Expect the Best discusses the affects it has on your baby, and the precautions to take if you do drink when breastfeeding:
-Alcohol can get into your breast milk and slow down motor development
-Alcohol may even interfere with your flow of breast milk
-An occassional drink is okay
-Wait at least two hours after an alcoholic beverage to nurse or pump
