But Military mom Vivian Greentree, mother of 2 boys, has found ways to make sure her husband Michael is always a part of their daily lives even when he's not with them. From carrying a "Mike on a Stick" picture to talking on video chats and phone, Michael is present in his son's life and is a constant reminder that they can be proud and involved citizens. I am retired Air Force and I support all the women and men that support their military spouses while they are away on a duty assignment.

I couldn't agree more. As an Air Force Wife and mother of two young boys we're going to be facing our first extended tour since we've had kids and preparing them for this next year isn't always easy but in the long run we feel it will all be worth it!

thanks vivian. my husband is a navy pilot and has deployed 3 times in the 6 years that we've been married. he missed the final trimester of my pregnancy with our first child but he has been home for the last 2.5 years we've had our little boy. i don't know what to expect when the time come that he has to leave again and how to explain what's happening to our little guy. whenever i'm asked "how do i do it" i end up answering, "i have no idea" because i really don't. ha! it's all we've known though since we've been together and you kinda just do what you do and put one foot in front of the other.

You are so right Vivian it's not normal to worry about your partner going to work. Everyone asks me why and how I could do it all the time. He is the love of my life, that's why I do it. How do I do it? With patience, support and understanding that this life was what I signed up for.
