I'm 7.5 months pregnant and even though my doctor and the experts in this video all say I should get it, I'm still nervous about the H1N1 vaccine. It's the first year it's available and makes me nervous that it hasn't been accurately tested. Am I crazy?

Another common sense idea for preventing the flu is less about how to protect your children and more about protecting your neighbor's kids. Year after year, there are plenty parents who mask their child's illness and flu symptoms with fever reducers such as Tylenol in an effort to avoid having to stay home from work with tending to a sick child.\ While I'm sympathetic towards people and their concerns about their jobs, especially in this economy, I think it's extremely irresponsible and selfish to send a child to school when they are contagious and should be home recuperating. That kind of behavior only puts other children and families at risk for infection.

My experience with the flu shott has not been a good one. I prefer not to take it and let my immune system cope with the flu. It has worked well for me I havent had the flu in 3 years and my daughter only got the flu vaccine at 2 years and she has been fine since then too.

Doctor's agree it is safe. I choose to believe them. The side effects from the flu shot (if any) are more mild than actually getting the flu. That to me, is the key! My family will be getting the flu shot again this year~ (both of them)

I've been a huge fan of dr. tanya altman's and it was great seeing her in this video - I felt like I'd just had a check up with her and my kids in her office and I didn't even have to wait in the waiting room or make an appointment!
