Raising kids raises questions. We have expert answers. So go ahead, ask away!
Finding the right caretaker for your child can be a challenging process and one that can sometimes feel as hopeless as finding the right mate. But alas, after a search far and wide, you DID find Mary Poppins (and the love of your life) and your family finally feels complete.
That is until... Mary P. tells you she's leaving (which in some cases, can be as worse as your husband leaving). The panic sets in as you wonder how your life will go on without her and then she drops the bigger bomb: She's leaving you for someone else... And worse, she's leaving you IN TWO WEEKS. Ouch.
But can she really bounce on such short notice?
Well a reader at our friends LilSugar posed this question in their Mommy Club Group:
Just when I was settled into my routine as a mother, working woman and a wife, my nanny decided to leave us. I can't blame her — she found a family willing to give her more hours, which translates into more money. Like many normal jobs, she gave me two weeks notice but unfortunately for me, that's not a lot of time to get a new babysitter. Is it crazy to expect more time from her or is that the normal amount of time a babysitter should give for notice?
Tell us your thoughts: What is a fair notice for your Nanny to leave?
