Raising kids raises questions. We have expert answers. So go ahead, ask away!

For parents looking to give their baby a homemade taste and nutrient filled meal without the hassle of preparing the food on their own, Baby’s Belly is the answer. Developed by husband-wife, actor-actress, mom-dad team, Nicole Tubiola-Hutchison (ABC Family’s Wildfire) and Kieren Hutchison (CW’s One Tree Hill), Baby’s Belly is Los Angeles’ first baby food delivery program.
Eating habits are established early and last a lifetime, something the Hutchison’s quickly became aware of once their son Quinn, now two, was born. Traditionally, in order to feed a baby the most nutrients and best taste, food is prepared at home which is, as any parent would attest, very time consuming. Further, many parents are not aware that the jarred food at the supermarket has been cooked at very high temperatures, which drain it of vital nutrients, color and texture. Those jars can stay on shelves for up to two years! Baby’s Belly does not freeze, so its food is ready to be enjoyed within a few days of delivery- as if it was homemade. Baby’s Belly also offers a much broader selection of food than that of a grocery store, which allows you to introduce a larger variety of foods to your child, including lentils, tofu, fish and nutrient-packed dried fruit.
Baby’s Belly has various services available, tailored to fit the age of your little eaters. The Belly Begins program starts at 6 months, when baby can start eating its first foods. Belly Begins consists of simple purees such as apple, pear, sweet potato, peas, butternut squash and carrots. At 8 months, baby can advance to Belly Blends, which gives a bit more texture in the puree blends, adding in apple, dried apricot and tofu, lentils, carrots and peas, and broccoli and pasta. Belly Bites delivery program begins at ten months and offers highly textured purees and mashes (allowing baby to start chewing.) Meals in Belly Bites include My First Meat Sauce (spaghetti with meat sauce), Curry Me Happy (Lentils, tofu, zucchini) and Make My Potato (mashed baked potato with broccoli, chicken and cheese sauce.) Finally, as your child enters its toddler years (12 months and up), he graduates to Belly Big Kids. These meals are well-balanced, cut into small bites and finger foods. There is a weekly menu that lasts for a month, with two choices each day, including items such as tofu mac and cheese to Sunday dinner favorite, pot roast.
Food is prepared in a health-coded kitchen in Burbank, CA and is delivered straight to customer’s doors every by 6:30 am Monday and Thursday, packed in a Baby’s Belly soft cooler. At under $30 for a week’s worth of food, Baby’s Belly is sure to make baby happy and mommy too!
