Daily dilemma: 8 month old is having hernia surgery. What to expect?

"My eight month old is having surgery next Monday to check for an undescended testicle and a hernia. If he has either, they will correct it at the same time. Has anyone gone through this? What should I expect as far as recovery, etc?"

Can anyone offer support or advice for this mom?
