Raising kids raises questions. We have expert answers. So go ahead, ask away!
In our age of overprotective parenting when a 6 year old can get kicked out of school for having a spork, it was a relief to discover the Tinkering School (courtesy of freerangekids Lenore) and this video of it's founder, Gever Tulley. At the ever innovative TED conference, Gulley gave a talk about kids and safety, really getting his audience's attention by titling his speech, The 5 most dangerous things for kids. While I'm not so sure I want to hand my kids a spear or have them shimmy across a rope bridge (made by children!), I so admire the concept behind Gulley's talk and the summer camp sessions he offers.
Do yourself a favor and watch this video. You might even let your kids play with matches.
