Raising kids raises questions. We have expert answers. So go ahead, ask away!
We're thrilled to announce all the tremendous media attention that Parents Ask expert Betsy Brown Braun garnered recently. On Wednesday 12/1 she was a guest for the second time on the CBS national show The Talk. On Thursday 12/2 she was the sole guest on the Dr. Phil Show. She also recorded 10 segments for Fox News to air in the upcoming weeks.
Last week, her newest book, You’re Not the Boss of Me, was for the second time #5 on the LA Times Best Seller List. And the same book rose to #1 one in its categories Family-Childcare- Parenting-Discipline, and it was #51 overall for all of Amazon.
Of course, all of this is not surprising to us! Betsy is a master at giving parents tactics and strategies for coping with behaviors in children of all ages. Our favorite bit of Betsy advice: When to let children pick out their own clothes. (Read entire article here). To a mom who's 4 year old wanted to wear a dress in the winter, Betsy advised:
If it’s snowing and she picks shorts, so be it. (You should have taken the shorts out of the closet!) Children do not get sick from being cold. They get sick from germs. When she comes to the breakfast table wearing a sundress, let it go. Do not comment on what she is wearing. Not one word. You may only say, “I see you picked your clothes out. Good for you. What would you like for breakfast?”
And there you have it! Kudos to Betsy!
